About The 24V Battery Condition Meter
Standard use battery meter for 24VDC systems, trusted battery condition meters with status indication at 18V, 21V, 24V, 28V and 32V increments, the Durite 24V battery gauge is used by many professional electrical engineers as the meter of choice for owners and operators, giving at a glance the 'state of charge' of a vehicles batteries.
Overcharging is an important factor as is allowing a battery to fully-drain, both of which can reduce the lifespan of a battery, the 0-523-72 unit puts over battery condition information well to vehicle owners and operators in an understandable way.
Fitting Instructions for Translation Purposes
- Ensure that the Voltmeter voltage matches the vehicle or system voltage (including illumination).
- Switch off the ignition and remove the key. Disconnect the battery (earth terminal first). Note: Before disconnecting the battery, make sure all system start-up codes are known, i.e. coded radios, etc.
- Choose a suitable location for the gauge with adequate access to the rear of the gauge for connections and fixings.
- Cut a 53 mm diameter hole at the chosen location for the gauge. Push the gauge into the hole and fit the “U” bracket over the mounting studs at the rear of the gauge. Fit washer(s) and nut to each stud. Align gauge and tighten nuts.
- Connect the terminal marked “+” to a suitable ignition-controlled fused supply or positive feed and connect the terminal marked ”-” to earth or negative feed.
- DO NOT connect anything to the terminal marked “S”.
- Connect the bulb wiring, orange (12V: 0-523-22) or white (24V: 0-523-72) wire to the vehicle panel lamp supply (after the fuse) and black wire to earth.
- Check all connections are correct and secure. Reconnect battery (earth terminal last). Switch on the ignition and check that the voltmeter registers the battery voltage. Switch on the panel lamps and check that the gauge illuminates.
Do Not’s
- Connect the “S” terminal to anything.
- Connect the voltmeter in series with a load.
Do’s
- Ensure there is adequate space for access to the rear of the voltmeter.
- Fit fuses if none are present in the circuits being monitored.
- Remember voltmeters are connected in parallel with the circuit being monitored.
