Fitting Instructions for Translation Purposes

  1. Cut a 85mm diameter panel hole. Save a minimum of 55mm (2 3/16 inch) of depth behind the panel to fit the gauge.
  2. Remove the fastening ring.
  3. Connect cables by following the below instructions.
  4. Fit cables through fastening ring and panel hole and insert connector into back of gauge.
  5. Programme gauge as per instructions on next page.
  6. Insert gauge through panel from the front, fit and tighten fastening ring from the rear checking the position of the gauge before tightening.

Programming

Press and hold the function button on the rear of the gauge and then turn on the power supply input. The LCD will display “Pulse”, “Hour”, “Buzz” in succession. Release the button when the required function is shown.

“Pulse” Function

  • Once the “Pulse” function has been selected as shown above the LCD will display a value such as “3” which means 3 pulses per revolution of the engine.
  • Press the function button to change the flashing digit on the LCD.
  • Remove the connector from the rear of the gauge to save the setting.

How to work out the RPM Ratio?

  1. If your sensor is installed on the flywheel it is the number of bolts or teeth being measured in one revolution.
  2. If the speed signal is being taken from the W-terminal the RPM ratio is equal to half the number of poles (e.g. for a 4 cylinder engine the setting is “2”, for 8 cylinder it is “4”, etc.).
  3. Refer to diagram.

“Hour” Function

  • Once the “Hour” function has been selected as shown above the LCD will display a value such as “5000” which is number of hours.
  • Press the function button to change the flashing digits from 0 to 99999 to confirm the starting point of the hour meter.
  • Remove the connector from the rear of the gauge to save the setting.

“Buzz” Function

  • Once the “Buzz” function has been selected as shown above the LCD will display a value such as “B 3000” which is the RPM at which the buzzer will sound.
  • Press the function button to change the flashing digits to set the RPM at which the buzzer will sound.
  • Remove the connector from the rear of the gauge to save the setting.

To check any of the above settings use the function button to select the appropriate function as shown above and the current setting will be displayed.
